Changi Airport welcomes Star Wars X-wing™ and TIE fighter™
Last month, I wrote about the unique opportunity to go onboard the ANA R2-D2 Jet for an afternoon of Star Wars extravaganza. If you weren't one of the lucky winners, fret now because all Changi Airport visitors can now (13 November 2015 to 05 January 2016) embark on an intergalactic adventure in the Departure Hall of Terminal 3 (T3) where a life-sized X-wing™ fighter has landed. Dress up in Star Wars costume and go onboard the cockpit of the X-wing™ for the ultimate photo opportunity. Photo memorabilia will be made available for visitors to bring home for free.
Complete the Star Wars experience with the weekly character special appearances at T3 from 14 November 2015 to 02 January 2016 every Saturday at 4PM. You can also participate in a range of activities to walk away with exclusive Star Wars merchandise while you are there! Fans can also pop by the 'Language Centre' to learn how to converse in 10 commonly-spoken languages in Star Wars while looking at model displays of the Millennium Falcon™ and Star Destroyer™.
The action does not just stop at T3 because over at Terminal 2 (T2), you will find a signature Starfight of the First Order - the TIE fighter™ which is guarded by five Stormtroopers™ in the latest incarnation of their armour. If you are traveling through T2, be sure to drop by gate E26 (if you have some time) where more life-sized figurines of the First Order Stormtroopers™ and the astromech droid R2-D2™ will be stationed to welcome passengers.
In addition to Star Wars: The Force Awakens luggage tags, tote bags and stickers, fans will be delighted to know they can collect a full set of eight limited-edition Star Wars plush toys exclusively available at Changi Airport. Featuring popular Star Wars characters Yoda™, Chewbacca™, Darth Vader™, Boba Fett™, Stormtrooper™, BB-8™, C-3PO and R2-D2, each of these plush toys can be purchased for S$6 when released, with a minimum spending at Changi Airport. iShopChangi.com shoppers and Changi Rewards members will also be entitled to exclusive redemption privileges.
There is a new Hyatt Place opening in Bangkok - Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit 1 (not to be confused with the Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit near Phrom Phong) - and it has already started to accept stay reservations from 13 January 2025.
