Candlenut opens at COMO Dempsey on 01 November 2016
The recipient of one-Michelin star restaurant, Candlenut, will be opening at the COMO Dempsey on 01 November 2016. The restaurant is set to open in amidst the lush greenery of Dempsey Hills and it will be the first of four dining establishments to open at COMO Dempsey which has an expanded seating capacity of 92 - including an 8-seat private room which is perfect for romantic dinners and business lunches.
Designed by world-renowned architect and designer, Paola Navone, the restaurant decor features a modern interior design concept while retaining intricate touches of the rich Peranakan heritage. In its new and larger premises, Candlenut continues to serve up contemporary Peranakan cuisine that preserves the essence and complexities of traditional food, with astute twists that lift the often rich dishes to a different level.
Favourites from Candlenut’s signature Peranakan Ah-ma-kase dinner tasting menu - including the Red Lion Snapper Fillet with Black Green Mango Sambal and Ginger Flower, and the King Tiger Prawn with Fresh Chilli Sambal and Charred Garlic Chives - are now available on the a la carte menu.
Diners can choose from more than 40 appetisers, mains and desserts from the a la carte menu for lunch and dinner. They can expect classic Peranakan dishes for lunch and more contemporary choices for dinner. Prices range from $12 for Homemade Kueh Pie Tee to $36 for Buah Keluak Wagyu Beef Short Ribs. For those who prefer to leave it to the chef, there’s an option for a 10-course tasting menu for dinner at $78. To complement its diverse food menu, Candlenut has a specially curated collection of champagnes, wines and craft beers from countries such as Italy, France and Germany.
