The theme for this year at the Summer Palace (Regent Singapore) is "Mid-Autumn Nostalgia" and this can be seen through the new snowskin mooncake flavours as well as the elegant textured mooncake box that is enveloped in a soft felt fabric. The mooncake box is also definitely a keeper as it is creatively designed to collapse into a Chinese chess board (complete with chess pieces) for your gaming pleasure.

If you are looking for the baked variants of mooncakes, try the special Parma Ham and Pork Floss with Assorted Nuts that was inspired by the flagship Italian restaurant within Regent Singapore, Basilico. If you have been following me on Instagram, you would have already known that the season for mooncakes (i.e. Mid-Autumn Festival) is coming up really soon and in the spirit of good fun, I have compiled what I would like to call a Mooncake Price Index (even though if we were to be pedantic, it is inaccurate to term it as that) for 2017. What I have done is basically gone through the price lists of all the hotel mooncakes that I have tasted so far to find out what the average price (GST inclusive) per baked and snowskin mooncake is - I have included both normal-size and mini-size ones for the sake of completeness. Do note that when there are multiple prices for different flavours, the cheapest price is utilised in this calculation.
