If you love fresh oysters (and they do run a really good promotion on the evenings of Tuesdays and Thursdays), you won't go wrong with the Oyster Platter here - priced at S$30++ for 6 pieces, these plump oysters will definitely start your brunch off on the right note. If you are looking for a selection of fresh seafood on ice, check out The Pelican Platter (S$138++) but that's definitely for sharing.

**Bacon Potato Hash (S$16++)**

The Bacon Potato Hash (S$16++) was a nice surprise - the crispy kipfler potatoes had the right bite (instead of being overcooked) and the combination of bacon and mixed herbs were nice - perhaps a little on the expensive side for what it is though.

One of the most popular items on the menu (even before this Saturday Brunch menu was launched) is the Old Fashioned Crab Cakes (S$24++) - filled with generous amounts of fresh crab inside! Personally, I have found the flavours to be a little lacking but perhaps the restaurant did not want to mask the natural taste of the crab and the price point for this definitely also on the higher-side.

**The City's Bagel & Eggs (S$28++)**

As a lover of poached eggs, I did like The City's Bagel & Eggs (S$28++) from The Pelican Seafood Bar & Grill though - the egg was poached nicely (with a beautiful yolk) but the whites could do with some tidying up. Generally, a pretty safe dish to order if you love to incorporate your Sunday Brunches with nicely cooked eggs. The sauteed spinach at the bottom did go pretty nicely with the smoked salmon and the bagel too!

As mentioned earlier, The Pelican Seafood Bar & Grill offers a nice view of the Marina Bay area and also alfresco seating if you are brave enough to deal with Singapore's sweltering weather. They also run a great happy hour on weekdays (12PM to 8PM) where you can get 1-for-1 house-pours at a really reasonable price (plus you have the best seats to watch the nightly laser show!).

The Pelican Seafood Bar & Grill is a great place to start your Saturday with some fresh seafood and that free-flowing Prosecco offer for just S$35++ is just hard to pass up. The items on the Saturday Brunch menu are definitely on the high side but you do get a nice view to soak in though.

When I first checked out Madame Fan at The NCO Club, I was completely won over by the brilliantly-executed dishes, the ambiance and more importantly, the juxtaposition of old world nostalgia and new world charm. The Mandarin Oriental, Singapore was one of the first few hotels that I have stayed in when I relocated back to Singapore a number of years back. Last year, I stayed in a Club Marina Bay Room to check out the newly-refurbished Oriental Club and ever since I have gotten my American Express Platinum Card, I have been thinking about another staycation since the FHR Benefits for this property seem pretty good. Located near the Marina Bay, this luxurious property has just unveiled a brand new dining concept - MO BAR, which occupies the previous space where Axis Bar and Lounge used to sit, is the latest addition to the bar scene in Singapore. Led by Bar Manager Michele Mariotti who was previously as The Berkley and The Savoy in London, the cocktails here are not for the fainthearted and the inventive food will leave you craving for more.

I was recently invited down by the team to check out Madame Fan which in their words, is a 'etiquette-free entertainment lifestyle concept' - this means that while the food is authentic, the dining experience is different from what is typically associated to traditional Chinese restaurants.

The Summer Pavilion at The Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore needs no introduction - it was the first Cantonese restaurant in a hotel to receive One Michelin star in Singapore and the food has always been consistently good. I have been to the restaurant on multiple occasions (usually in the day) and the lighting has always been great but unfortunately this time, I was stuck with a dinner tasting of the Chinese New Year menu and therefore the images do not do the food any justice.
