Hilton Honors Announces Generous Status Extensions for Every Member (Worldwide!) due to COVID-19 Situation
Hilton Honors was one of the first few hotel loyalty programs to announce a status extension for Greater China members who were affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. Today, all Hilton Honors members globally who hold elite status with the program (be it Diamond, Gold, or Silver) will automatically receive an extension through 31 March 2021 (or 31 March 2022 if you have already qualified for 2020).

As a quick clarification, if your status was scheduled to be downgraded on 31 March 2020 (meaning, you did not hit the number of required nights/stays/points last year), that status will automatically be renewed and extended through to 31 March 2021. If you have qualified for status in 2020, it will be extended through to 31 March 2022 which means you have access to it today and for the next 24 months. Additionally, Hilton Honors will pause the expiration of all points scheduled to expire between now and 31 December 2020. If you wish to purchase Hilton Honors Points, there is currently a 100% points bonus which is ongoing right now.
Eligible Weekend Night Rewards that are earned on eligible Hilton credit cards will also have their expiration date extended - all unexpired Weekend Night Rewards as of 11 March 2020, and all new ones issued until 30 August 2020, through the end of next summer (31 August 2021).
