Hilton Honors New Global Promotion - Double Points and Double Elite Qualifying Nights from 8 September to 31 December 2020 (Register Now!)

I am a huge Marriott Bonvoy fan but Hilton Honors might just be the best hotel loyalty program this year - it was amongst the first few programs to offer a blanket extension for elite members and nights earned in 2020 will be carried over to 2021 (making re-qualification for the year of 2022 easier). The latest Hilton Honors global promotion will sweeten this deal even further by offering members the opportunity to earn double Hilton Honors points and elite-qualifying nights (EQNs) on all eligible nights consumed between 08 September 2020 and 31 December 2020.

Registration for the Hilton Honors Double Rewards global promotion is necessary as always and I do recommend that you do it as soon as you can to avoid missing out on it. Once you have registered for this promotion, you will earn double Hilton Honors points and EQNs for all consumed nights during the promotional period (regardless of the date that you check-in or check-out from the property). If you are a Hilton Honors Diamond member, you will earn 30 (up from 20) points per USD on eligible spend made during the promotional period.

EQNs that you earn this year, including the bonus nights that you earn from the Double Rewards campaign, will rollover to 2021. Therefore, if you have zero nights with Hilton Honors right now and you somehow manage to hit 30 actual nights during the promotional period, you will immediately qualify for Hilton Honours Diamond status and all 60 nights (30 + 30 bonus nights) will rollover to 2021 (therefore extending your elite status through March 2023). 

Do note that the bonus EQNs that you earn from this new global promotion will count towards milestone bonuses in 2020 (but it will not count towards achieving the milestone bonuses in 2021). Using the example above, a member (without any EQNs now) who clocks 30 actual nights during the promotional period will earn 60 EQNs in 2020 (and have them rollover to 2021), which will unlock 60,000 bonus Hilton Honors points in total from the milestone bonuses. Even though the 60 EQNs do rollover to 2021, he or she will not get the 60,000 bonus points again next year.
