Max Card will Route Transactions to Best Credit Card for Maximum Miles/Rewards - to Launch in Q4 2023 (Hopefully)
In an ideal universe where knowledge is king, consumers will know which credit card to use in every situation to maximise on rewards (regardless of cash back, or miles). However, with so many credit cards available in market, it may be difficult to filter through all the noise to get to the best card - unless you are extremely dedicated in this field and keep yourself abreast of changes to terms and conditions as well as new product offerings. Max Card is the theoretical solution to this problem - the team is selling the idea of automatic transaction routing to the best credit card that you have to maximise rewards. There is currently a waitlist (which you can join using my referral link to earn 1,000 Max Miles that can be converted into airline miles at an approximately 1:1 ratio) but the team intends to launch the Max Card sometime in Q4 2023.

According to public information available on the website, Max Card plans to support all major card issuers and it aims to employ a proprietary algorithm to determine the best-linked credit card for each transaction. There is even a Max Time Machine feature that will allow you to switch the card used for a transaction even after it has been made. There are three main features of the Max Card:
Rewards Optimisation: This is what we are all interested in - the proprietary algorithm is supposed to know exactly which credit card to charge the transaction to. For example, if you are shopping for groceries on Shopee, using the Max Card should automatically route that transaction to a card (like the Citi Rewards Card or the HSBC Revolution Card) that gives you 4 miles per dollar. Apparently, you will also be able to set custom limits on the cards so you do not charge a card that has exhausted its monthly bonus limits.
Card Management: The Max Card is also supposed to track the most updated terms and conditions for all your linked credit cards. It will monitor progress towards minimum (and maximum) spending, as well as a rewards cap for each linked card.
Security and Control: Users are able to generate unlimited virtual card numbers for greater control - you can dispose of a virtual card easily in case of suspected misuse or fraud. Max Card will also allow you to set specific rules to limit charges from individual merchants and alert you of potential fraud in real time.
Honestly, the Max Card sounds like a dream and this concept is something that is often being discussed amongst mile-chasers. The concept seems sound, and they already have the MCC lookup tool in place which does a decent job in guiding you to use the right credit cards to maximise rewards. The basic service will be free-to-use but there will also be paid membership tiers for users to enjoy additional rewards and benefits. As mentioned earlier, there is currently an incentive to register for the waitlist (with just your email address) to get 1,000 bonus Max Miles when the card launches in Q4 2023.
