Get up to 100% More Hilton Honors Points on Purchases Made by 12 March 2024 - Stay at Expensive Properties for Cheap!
Hilton is currently running a sale offering up to 100% bonus on point purchases made before the end of 12 March 2024 - members may receive a different bonus as these are targeted based on stay and spend history. The bonus on point purchases runs from 23 January 2024 (12:00 AM ET) to 12 March 2024 (11:59 PM ET) so for those of us in Singapore, the sale will end on 13 March 2024 at 12:59 PM. While it is not advisable to purchase points without a goal in mind, purchasing them with a 100% bonus is effectively a 50% discount and this can help you stay at expensive properties around the world for a fraction of what the cash rate is.

All Hilton Honors members will be able to purchase up to 160,000 points per calendar year during this promotion period - the usual limit is 80,000 points per calendar year before the bonuses - so if your account has been targeted with the maximum 100% bonus, you can purchase 160,000 Hilton Honors points (and get 320,000 points) for USD 1,600. This works out to just 0.5 US cents per point which is a fantastic price if you use them wisely at properties that are typically quite expensive (e.g. the Conrad Osaka or the Conrad Tokyo just to name a few).
If you do follow The Shutterwhale on Instagram, you might notice that I stayed over at the Conrad Tokyo over Christmas 2023 where the average room rate was over USD 900 per night. Just as an example, a five-night stay at the Conrad Tokyo over this period would have cost approximately USD 4,500 but if you were to purchase points at 0.5 US cents each, you could effectively stay at the hotel over the same period for just USD 1,900 - that's a 57.8% discount on the cheapest public rate available. A reward night for a Standard Room at the Conrad Tokyo is typically 95,000 Hilton Honor points per night but you do receive the fifth night free if you redeem five consecutive nights - this works out to 380,000 points for a five-night stay. As a Hilton Honors Diamond member, I was also upgraded to a Bayview Room with access to the Executive Lounge on this stay as reward nights are eligible nights that count towards earning and retaining your status each year.
I typically use the Citi Rewards Card on such purchases to earn 4 miles per dollar but I can currently enjoy 4.5 miles per dollar with my Citi Prestige Card as I am currently enrolled in a tactical promotion that allows registered cardholders to earn 4.5 miles per dollar (capped at S$5,000) on foreign currency spend.
Planning a beach day can seem simple, but unexpected issues often arise. Mornington Peninsula’s beaches are popular, which means dealing with potential crowds, fluctuating weather, and poor preparation can easily ruin your outing. Arriving late might lead to parking challenges, and picking the wrong beach can limit your planned activities. Many forget important items that could make or break their beach experience, leading to stress and missed opportunities for relaxation.
