Buy IHG One Rewards Points at Just 0.5 Cents Each with a 100% Bonus (Through 22 May 2025)

From now until 22 May 2025, IHG One Rewards is offering up to 100% bonus on purchased points. While this is a common promo that appears a few times a year, 100% is the most generous we typically see from the program. To unlock the bonus, you’ll need to purchase at least 5,000 points in a single transaction. If you buy the maximum allowed during this promo—200,000 points pre-bonus—you’ll receive 400,000 points in total at a cost of US$2,000, or just 0.5 US cents per point.

It is unclear whether all members are targeted with a 100% bonus, but during this promotion, the limit has also been raised to 200,000 points (pre-bonus) - this means you can essentially stock up on 400,000 points total with this deal.

It’s worth noting that IHG points are sold through Points.com, so this won’t code as a hotel transaction on your credit card. That means you won’t earn bonus points in hotel spend categories. Therefore, if you are based in Singapore, you might wish to use the Chocolate Card to earn 2 Max Miles per dollar + no FX fees. Alternatively, you may also consider using the Amaze Card (with the Citi Rewards Card paired to it) to earn 4 miles per dollar (up to S$1,000 per month), which also avoids any FX fees that banks traditionally charge.

IHG One Rewards employs dynamic award pricing, which means there’s no fixed chart to determine how many points you’ll need for a free night. Instead, the number of points required generally reflects the room’s best available rate at the time of booking. If you’re eyeing a specific redemption where you can extract more than 0.5 US cents of value per point, buying points under this promotion could be a savvy move. Just keep in mind that award stays typically don’t qualify for bonus points, so if you’re aiming to hit the threshold for global promotions or targeted offers, you’ll want to plan accordingly.

IHG’s current bonus offer brings the cost of points down to a level that can unlock real value, particularly for aspirational or peak-season redemptions. With the temporary increase in the purchase cap to 200,000 points and a generous 100% bonus, this is about as good a time as any to consider topping up your account—but only if you already have redemptions in mind.
