Earn up to 8 Miles per S$1 on Expedia with DBS Altitude Card (Visa and AmEx!)
If you hold a DBS Altitude Card (Visa and American Express versions), you can enjoy an accelerated earn rate of 6 miles per S$1 on all bookings made via the following link between 01 July 2016 and 30 September 2016. If you spend S$2,500 or more in that same transaction, the earn rate will go up to 8 miles per S$1. Read on for a summary of the terms and conditions for you to take full advantage of this promotion.
1. Register for the Promotion
Before you get too excited about the promotion (yes, I know 8 miles per dollar is just unbelievable), remember to register for the promotion HERE. You will have to enter your name, NRIC, DBS Altitude credit card number and your phone number.
2. Book Using Promotional Landing Page
Unlike the Citibank and Expedia tie-up, this DBS promotion specifically asks you to use the promotional landing page in order to take advantage of the promotion. Booking through Expedia via ShopBack will most likely disqualify you from this promotion.
3. Pre-pay Your Hotel (Not Pay Later!)
If you are thinking about making hotel reservations, make sure that payment is made to Expedia at the time of booking - if you select 'Pay Later', you will NOT earn the bonus miles. With that being said, it is always a great idea to check out Kaligo instead since it gives 10 miles per S$1 without the minimum requirement of S$2,500 per transaction.
4. Make Sure Expedia is the Merchant on Record for Flights
Most people do not know this and it is easy to miss - in order for you to earn bonus miles with your flight bookings on Expedia, you have to make sure that Expedia is the merchant on record for these flights. To put them simply, flights must be fulfilled by the following airline carriers (subjected to changes): Air France, Air India LTD., Finnair, Eva Airways, Air China, Cathay Pacific, China Southern Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, Garuda Indonesia, Transasia Airways, Gulf Air, Air Astana, Korean Air, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Latam Airlines Group, Malaysia Airlines, SilkAir, Air Mauritius, China Eastern Airlines, Air Macau Company, Bangkok Airways, Philippine Airlines, Air Niugini, Qatar Airways, Lao Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Thai Airways Intl, Vietnam Airlines.
5. Maximum S$5,000 Spending Cap
Bonus miles on the DBS Altitude Credit Cards is capped at S$5,000 per calendar month - maximum of 40,000 miles per month.
