What to Do During Business Travel Downtime in Bangkok?

While Business Travel is often envied by those who do not partake in it, it is usually packed with tight schedules and meetings. With that being said, most of the business activities usually end by evening and there is always the opportunity to explore the city then. So the next time you are in the Land of Smiles, change out of your work clothes and follow one of these 5 tips to make the best out of your downtime during your business travel in Bangkok:

1. Enjoy the Lush Greenery at the Parks or Green Spaces

Wind down the evening with a leisurely stroll in one of the lush green spaces around Bangkok - there are plenty to choose from regardless of where you are at. The nearby Lumpini Park (located near the Crowne Plaza Bangkok Lumpini Park) is one of Bangkok's largest park that spans over a million square metres.

2. Find a Rooftop Watering Hole

There's no better way to beat the heat than a visit to one of Bangkok's rooftop bars. The latest CHAR Rooftop Bar that has just opened up on the Hotel Indigo Bangkok Wireless Road (read my review here!) is the perfect place to enjoy live music, an amazing view and signature cocktails by the award-winning Italian mixologist, Francesco Moretti.

3. Beat the Traffic on the BTS

If you are staying at the InterContinental Bangkok or the Holiday Inn Bangkok which are both located really close to a BTS Skytrain Station, there is no better way to get around this city than the highly-efficient BTS Skytrains - you will also beat the peak hour traffic on the road!

4. Immerse Yourself in the Culture

Consider hopping on a free river boat from Saphan Taksin BTS (located just a stone's throw away from Holiday Inn Silom) to check out Bangkok's largest open air mall for a night of shopping and eating by the famous Chao Phraya River.

5. Feast Away

Finally and most importantly, enjoy the local cuisine by feasting away at one of many street food bazaars that you can find around Bangkok.
