30% off Starpoints (Starwood Preferred Guest) - Convert them to Marriott Rewards Points or Miles!
Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) is currently running a sale that offers up to 30% off Starpoints - if you live in Asia-Pacific and do not have Gold Elite status with the program, you can find out how to fast track to Gold Elite in just one stay. Once you have your status, you can link it to your Marriott Rewards account to give you Gold Elite and that will in turn give you guaranteed lounge access at all participating properties.
The sale runs until 30 April 2017 and you will be able to save up to 30% when you purchase 5,000 or more Starpoints:
- Buy 5,000 - 9,500 Starpoints and save 10%
- Buy 10,000 - 14,500 Starpoints and save 15%
- Buy 15,000 - 19,500 Starpoints and save 20%
- Buy 20,000 - 30,000 Starpoints and save 30%

Each 1,000 block of Starpoints is priced at US$35 (approx. S$50) and you if you do convert 20,000 Starpoints into a frequent flyer program of your choice, you will receive 25,000 miles - probably not so great if you wish to redeem them in KrisFlyer due to the recent devaluation announcement. Converting them to Marriott Rewards points at a 1:3 ratio may prove to be cost-efficient if you are looking to redeem some free nights at lower category hotels.
Marriott Bonvoy’s short end-of-year promotion awards 2,025 bonus points per paid stay (up to three stays) for nights completed between 28 October 2025 and 10 January 2026, with an extra 2,000 points per stay at Marriott Bonvoy Outdoors properties. Register by 27 December 2025 to qualify.
