Each Mileage Plan account should be targeted with a similar promotion but do log-in to your account to check if they are exactly the same. For my account, I have to purchase at least 40,000 Mileage Plan miles in order to trigger the 50% bonus. Mileage Plan miles are typically priced at USD 27.50 (USD 29.56 after Federal Excise Tax) per block of 1,000 miles but if you were to trigger the 50% point bonus, this will drop to USD 18.33 (USD 19.71) per block of 1,000 miles. As you may already know, redeeming two Business Class flights on Japan Airlines will only require 25,000 Mileage Plan miles (approximately USD 493 under this promotion) before applicable taxes. In case you are thinking about purchasing the minimum number of miles to trigger the 50% bonus, charging SGD 1,500 in a foreign currency to the OCBC VOYAGE Card will give you a free airport limousine transfer (the best way to start any trip!).
Your Mileage Plan account may be credited up to a maximum total of 150,000 miles acquired through Points.com in a calendar year, whether purchased by you or gifted to you. MVP, MVP Gold and MVP Gold 75K Mileage Plan member accounts have no annual limit on the number of miles which may be purchased or gifted through Points.com.
