Is the JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach Reopening for Leisure Stays from 28 December 2020?

There are 230 hotels that have been approved by STB and MTI for leisure stays (e.g. staycations) at the time of writing and it appears that the much-awaited JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach will start accepting leisure bookings from 28 December 2020 at the very latest. According to an EDM promoting suite stays that was sent out to Marriott Bonvoy members yesterday, the JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach will be accepting leisure bookings from 28 December 2020.

I have stayed at the JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach on many occasions and it is actually one of my favourite properties (if you get the right room type). The Executive Lounge may not look the best in terms of decor but having 4-hours of free-flowing drinks in the evening makes all the difference. At this time, it is unclear whether or not the property will start accepting leisure bookings before 28 December 2020 (perhaps to catch the influx of guests on Christmas Eve) but I will definitely recommend checking back in a few weeks for more information - hopefully the Executive Lounge will be operated throughout the day once the starts accepting staycation guests.
