New Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer and CapitaLand CapitaStar Partnership - Convert KrisFlyer Miles into STAR$ (Two-Way Conversion)
KrisFlyer has just launched a two-way conversion programme with CapitaStar and members can now convert their KrisFlyer Miles into STAR$, and vice versa. This new partnership will allow both KrisFlyer Members and CapitaStar members to their miles and STAR$ to use them on different redemption platforms but do note that the conversion rates are not optimal (as you would expect).
KrisFlyer miles can be converted into STAR$ which can be used to redeem for lifestyle rewards as well as payments for dining, shopping, and wellness activities across participating CapitaLand malls in Singapore. STAR$ can also be converted into Ascott Stars Rewards (ASR) Points which can then be utilised to offset spend on properties like the Ascott Raffles Place Singapore - there is currently a 50% bonus on the sale of ASR Points so be sure to check that out! Conversely, STAR$ can be converted into KrisFlyer miles (which can be utilised for redemption flights) or KrisPay miles (which can be used for shopping, dining, and travel rewards). This seamless digital conversion between miles and STAR$ can be done on both platforms.
Members will be able to convert between KrisFlyer Miles and STAR$ at the following rates:
3,000 KrisFlyer Miles = 21,000 STAR$
9,880 STAR$ = 380 KrisFlyer/KrisPay Miles
As a quick reminder, 5,000 STAR$ are worth approximately S$5 - you may redeem your STAR$ for an eCapitaVoucher or use them directly to offset eligible purchases at participating merchants. Redeeming 3,000 KrisFlyer Miles (worth at least S$48, but more if you were to redeem them on First Class and Business Class flights) for 21,000 STAR$ (worth S$21) is terrible value but if you do have KrisFlyer Miles expiring, it may not be a terrible option if STAR$ is something that you utilise or accrue.
Similarly, redeeming 9,880 STAR$ (worth S$9.88) for 380 KrisFlyer Miles (worth at least S$6.08) is not ideal as well. You should be able to use your STAR$ easily via the CapitaStar app and therefore, converting them to KrisFlyer Miles (or worse, KrisPay Miles) should not really be an option at all.
To celebrate the launch of this partnership however, eight lucky KrisFlyer and CapitaStar members who convert their miles to STAR$ (or vice versa) from now until 04 May 2021 can stand to win 100,000 KrisFlyer Miles (worth at least S$1,600) or 1,000,000 STAR$ (worth S$1,000). There are four different weeks of promotion and two lucky winners will be selected at the end of every week:
Week One: 5-11 April 2021
Week Two: 12-19 April 2021
Week Three: 20-26 April 2021
Week Four: 27 April - 4 May 2021
As a quick reminder, 100,000 KrisFlyer Miles is more than sufficient for a return trip in Business Class to Tokyo or Seoul. It can also take you and your partner to Bali in Business Class (return-trip).
Planning a beach day can seem simple, but unexpected issues often arise. Mornington Peninsula’s beaches are popular, which means dealing with potential crowds, fluctuating weather, and poor preparation can easily ruin your outing. Arriving late might lead to parking challenges, and picking the wrong beach can limit your planned activities. Many forget important items that could make or break their beach experience, leading to stress and missed opportunities for relaxation.
