Grand Hyatt Singapore to Close Completely for Renovation on 19 September 2022 with Planned Reopening in Q1 2023
The Grand Hyatt Singapore first announced renovation plans last year and while the Terrace Wing has been closed since 18 October 2021, a mailer has just gone out to Club at the Hyatt members regarding a complete closure from 19 September 2022. The property is expected to reopen in Q1 2023 with renovated rooms and suites, alongside refreshed dining concepts and facilities.
With the complete closure of the property, the Club at the Hyatt program will be discontinued and the last day of operations of 10 SCOTTS and Straits Kitchen will be 15 September 2022 and 16 September 2022 (breakfast service only) respectively. While going on my mattress runs in Singapore last year, I had the opportunity to get a glimpse into the renovated rooms and suites of the Grand Hyatt Singapore (as a full-paying guest) and they look fantastic. The Terrace Wing (which has been closed since October 2021) will be relaunched as The Wellness Wing with spaces that are designed by NAO Taniyama Associates and Strickland, alongside urban landscaping designed by Grant Associates. There will also be a brand new five-story cascading garden and waterfall feature with an outdoor fitness area extension to the new spa and fitness center.
While the Grand Hyatt Singapore prepares to reopen in Q1 2023, World of Hyatt members may consider staying at the Andaz Singapore if they wish to continue earning points and nights on eligible stays. I stayed at the Andaz Singapore at least ten times last year (since I wanted to obtain Globalist status in the program) and I really like the property (although the rooms do not have bath tubs) - check out my 2021 review of the Andaz Singapore here!
TRIBE Living Bangkok Sukhumvit 39 is a great value choice for budget-conscious travelers but its slightly longer walk from Phrom Phong BTS Station may make it less convenient compared to more accessible (but pricier) options in the area.
