The American Express Platinum af'FAIR 2020 - Get Two Bottles of Ruinart Champagne Delivered for 15,000 MR Points

American Express runs the most amazing Platinum af'FAIR each year for Centurion and Platinum members and exclusive events like these truly help justify that hefty annual fee that members pay. This year, in recognition of the ongoing pandemic, American Express will be creating a virtual party with live-streamed entertainment, games, and much more - members who choose to participate can also pay 15,000 Membership Rewards (MR) Points (equivalent to 9,375 Miles) more for two bottles of Ruinart Champagne - Ruinart Blanc de Blancs NV and Ruinart Rosé NV.

If you are an American Express Platinum member, you should already receive an EDM regarding The Platinum af'FAIR 2020 - it will happen on 12 December 2020 on a Saturday and there will be three sessions to choose from. RSVP for each Basic Platinum Member must be done by 23 November 2020 and it is on a first-come, first-served basis. 

There are three different packages that Platinum Members can choose from:

Singapore Swing (20,000 MR Points)

• 1x Bottle of Ruinart Blanc de Blancs NV (90 points Wine Advocate)

• 1x Bottle of Ruinart Rosé NV (94 points Wine Spectator)

• Cuisine and beverage set of choice from selections like Chef Kang, Little Farms, Uncle Leong Seafood, Lush Platters or Fine Palate

• A Platinum memento

• Access to event with digital memorabilia

The most expensive package - Singapore Swing - is priced at 20,000 MR Points which is worth approximately 12,500 Miles if you were to convert them into frequent flyer miles at a 400:250 ratio. With the most conservative valuation of 2 cents per mile, 20,000 MR Points (12,500 Miles) are worth approximately S$250 nett. This package does come with two bottles of Ruinart Champagne which retails for slightly over S$200 in Singapore on the cheapest websites so I do think this is a fantastic offer.

Love Local (5,000 MR Points)

• Cuisine and beverage set of choice from selections like Chef Kang, Little Farms, Uncle Leong Seafood, Lush Platters or Fine Palate

• A Platinum memento

• Access to event with digital memorabilia

The Love Local package is priced at 5,000 MR Points (3,125 Miles which are worth approximately S$62.50 with a 2 cent per mile valuation) and it is pretty much the same as the Singapore Swing with the two bottles of Ruinart Champagne. This means that you are essentially paying 15,000 MR Points or S$187.50 nett for two bottles of Ruinart Champagne which is a fantastic price! 

Native Nomad (500 MR Points)

• Access to event with digital memorabilia

If you are running low on MR Points or you simply do not enjoy fine food and drinks, there is also a Native Nomad package which is priced at just 500 MR Points - this comes with just access to the event with digital memorabilia.
